Celebrity Wedding Season: Style lessons from the best

It looks like summer was forgotten this year with everyone talking about the arrival of celebrity wedding season. It was a month of spectacular weddings beginning with Bollywood's style icon Sonam Kapoor tying the knot, followed by Neha Dhupia and ending with the biggest of them all, the Royal Wedding.

For those of us who didn't manage to get invited to all three weddings, we settled for experiencing it vicariously through the pictures and taking style inspiration for our wardrobes and jewellery.

Here's what we learned from celebrity wedding season.

Bollywood’s Style Icon gets married

Sonam Kapoor gave us major goals by rocking a traditional red and gold lehenga designed by Anuradha Vakil. If that wasn't stunning enough, she accessorised with vintage-style jewellery, wearing a choker and a guttapusalu necklace in layers and a multi-stranded matha patti. Sonam completed the look with Jimmy Choo shoes.

For the Mehendi ceremony, Sonam switched to an ivory and gold lehenga designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

And finally for the reception, she impressed everyone with a graphic-print lehenga designed by Anamika Khanna.

Neha Dhupia goes minimally elegant

Neha Dhupia was the portrait of elegance at her wedding with Angad Bedi. The actress wore a pastel pink lehenga designed by Anita Dongre. Her accessories included a diamond-shaped maang tika, a gold and emerald choker and jhumkas.

For her Mehendi ceremony, Neha went for a blue and gold kaftan designed by Masaba Gupta. She made it look effortlessly cool.

And finally for the post-wedding celebrations, the actress was spotted in a saree designed by Anavila Misra.

Fairytale wedding comes to life

It was a royal secret for a while until it was revealed. Meghan Markle chose Givenchy for her wedding gown with British designer Claire Wright Keller creating the wedding outfit of the year.

The veil of the dress is said to have incorporated all 53 countries of the Commonwealth in a floral composition.

The guests at the wedding included George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin but it was the dapper couple Victoria and David Beckham who caught our eye. Couple goals indeed.
